XCOM®: Chimera Squad

the least good of the great XCOMs

i have it on steam when it comes to XCOM, all of the strategy games are good, X-COM: UFO Defense, X-COM Terror from the Deep, X-COM: Apocalypse, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM 2 and of course XCOM: Chimera Squad of these XCOM: CS is the leats good, but its still a great game, introducing turn based mechanics very different from the rest of the game, as well as a very different setting, more cyberpunky, taking place AFTER the alien war in XCOM 2, in City 31, the one city that was spared the bulk of the destruction from the war on account of the fact that its inhabitants willingly surrendered to XCOM forces, aliens, hybrids and humans live in an uneasy peace, as mistrust is felt everywhere as the city lies on the brink of collapse from forces within you control Chimera Squad, an experimental peacekeeping unit XCOM has setup, employing alien, hybrid and human soldiers working together to save City 31 the game has a good premise, and the bits of lore dropped between missions is great, dialogue and ingame quips... could be better, the game is also buggy and there are some questionable design choices that rob the game of the high stakes the previous games had, still, well worth playing for any fan of strategy games

Legend of Grimrock 2

masterpiece

i have the game on steam, but either way i cannot recommend this enough, its impeccable, with good combat, MAGNIFICENT exploration and brain melting puzzles if you like puzzles, RPGs and/or dungeon crawlers, you owe yourself to get this

Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic

TBS games dont get much better than this

ive played this game on and off for the last 17+ years, and thats mostly just skirmish, theres so much content here is insane, and theres fan sites still up hosting maps and scenarios even today i think the only turn based strategy games that are better than this, is the XCOM/X-COM series, overall this is a masterpiece

World in Conflict: Complete Edition

best story ive seen in an RTS

first things first, you are getting this for the single player, its a good thing its a good one, this is an RTS that is very easy to pick up and play, no resource gathering, its all about the tactics with an obvious focus on modern mobile warfare the single player is very varied and it has one great story to tell with very memorable characters, it is also a real nostalgia trip for anybody who lived through the late 80s/early 90s

METAL GEAR SOLID

a timeless classic, a subpar port

one of the all time greats of the PS1 whose implementation of PS1 technologies was so extensive any port could only ever hope to be the second best way to play, that being said, the game remains fantastic to this day, even if the stealth is somewhat simplistic, exploring shadow moses remains as entertaining as ever, the story as fantastic as ever and the boss fights, complete classics that being said, this is a subpar port, on top of losing all the idiosyncrasies of the PS1 original, such as its use of rumble (still novel at the time), reading your memory card for other konami games and even having you change the controller port for a fight we all know by this point, this version offers less than the bare minimum, with practically no graphics options or improvements over its PS1 original however not all its lost, gog has graciously made this version compatible with modern systems, it also added a directx tool to adjust the game somewhat better to modern resolutions, however, if you want a real improvement over the original, visit PCgamingwiki and download the widescreen patch, it does wonders to improve graphic fidelity and it offers an advantage over the PS1 original this version also adds a few things over the PS1 original, a first person mode, which is almost worthless but its there, and more importantly, the VR missions that were originally shipped in Metal Gear Solid: Integral adding some more replayability overall i still recommend it, the game is a classic, it includes the VR missions, and can be patched to support widescreen
