It's the first time I play one of these games (tried Original Sin 2 for a couple of hours too, but didn't really play it). As for this one, I find the story more immersive, and the liberty to navigate the game is satisfying. The world (at least until now) is not "open world" but you are free to navigate the several paths as you and your team see fit. There's no "right way" to play it and even tho I save often, I always let the cards fall where they may, I never load the last save to change the outcome (maybe in other playthroughs). Character creation is amazing and you can level it up with some mods. Story is immersive and cutscenes are well done, with some nudity if you so want ahahah xD Battle is very satisfying and I really missed a turned based game since the old Final Fantasies. You don't feel overcumbered with spells and abilities, there are plenty but you start with a couple and unlock as you go, so there's time for that learning curve. 9/10 in my opinion. Only downside for me is camera movement that gets some getting used to and no option to move char with WASD keys, but again, you can use mods to fix all that if you want, so it's something i can totally live with.
