Straight forward first person shooter, but the complexity of the maps, both sprawling outward, and vertically. The number of nooks and crevasses that are accessible with jumps and grapple are mind boggling. The number of weapons kept on your person are vast and varied, as well as deadly and all of them work as their stats imply.
When it was first released it was a pretty good game, but over the years they have improved it significantly. Some aspects, such as driving and fighting with melee weapons can still stand to be improved a bit, but it is a good experience overall. The missions and the storyline are immersive and even doing side-missions opens up many different options later in the game.
