Inspector Schmidt - A Bavarian Tale

Cheating FTW

I love this game. The fight music with tuba is the best. The characters are memorable. I hex-edited the save file in C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Totgeschweigen\Saved and gave myself 0x1A (31) in all stats at the beginning of the game. That and save-scumming made the game very casual, which I prefer. The dice-player at the Inn is basically a fountain of free cash. It's a little tricky at first, since you have to navigate the menus to set the text language and speech language to English while all menu items are in German. There are lots of places in the game where they slip and say a few German words, but it doesn't affect comprehension. The game doesn't hold your hand as far as destination. Some places you have to look up on the internet to find. You need to use the compass often. Also if you're in the forest at night and your lamp runs out of oil, that means you're stumbling around in the pitch black night! But you can power through by using the compass.
