Probably one of the best fantasy 4X games out there, alongside some of the Heros of Might and Magic games. Great world and lore development, flexibility and replayability. Suffers a little in endgame and is vulnerable to dead end starts, and has the occasional complete logic breakdown, but generally rewarding and fun to play. Could always use expansion and more content.
After ... various attempts ... it appears that we finally have worthy sucessor to the Jagged Alliance legacy. Looks like a Jagged Alliance game, plays like a Jagged Alliance game and has all the depth of a Jagged Alliance game. Nothing groundbreaking, but another excellent game in a classic series.
Superficially simple, this turns out to be a game with surprising depth. Besides the challenges of managing a (very) motley assortment of mercenaries, the machinations of your various employers and the dynamic background world there is plenty for the player to do just staying alive.
