I greatly enjoy games like entire Metro series, that give you immersive story, great visuals with very high attention to details, functional and well thought out controls with dynamic feel to it in game, sound and everything else on technical side is generally great. I don't like fighting monsters that much but many and long stealth parts of the game fighting human enemies generally make up for it. It doesn't ever feel repetitive, everything has an original feel to it. Many times it feels a bit scripted, like, you don't always have full control over what's going on, but I suppose it's just for movie-like effect that couldn't be achieved other way. Even for just a single player game, it's a great choice and, for example, I think that, after a while, it has become my favourite game series overall. For me, the first part of the series is also the grimmest one, the most difficult one, the one that has the mood that feels the most like being in "post" "nuclear" Russia and, even though the other two are more enriched than this one, it will always be the original one in these few categories.
