Yes, TA is/was probably the best RTS of all time! The one to rule them all. Even though the graphics are somewhat dated, the game is still stellar. The folks at Cavedog happened upon the perfect recipe for a science fiction (gem) rts game. In 1999, they released the eagerly anticipated Total Annihilation: Kingdoms which replaced the science fiction theme with one of fantasy. TA - Kingdoms didn't resonate well at all with the critics and/or fans of the original title. A perfect example of .. If it works don't fix it. They should have taken TA and just made it better, like ms did with aoe-one to aoe-two. Two being much better. Anyway, if you haven't played this game, you are missing out. Give it a go and you'll be glad you did. Read the other reviews. There isn't much that hasn't been covered. If I was going to pick the top 5 rts games of all time, TA would be #1 on my list.
