Short but well made game -approx 4 hours

I quite enjoyed it. Best played with a game pad. Remembering all the fighting methods and when to strike at first can take a little getting use to (if you've never got the hang of dark souls mechanics and alike - which can be painful to learn - this game has semi-inspired mechanics but much more casual (which I love) - except featuring it's own spin on things). Much easier to jump into than many games, I love and play the heck out of many games which I don't have to spend hours learning and getting the hang of, even though such games have their place. The commentary includes somewhat humourous responses from the guards which I found refreshing and encouraging- especially to get you started in the tutorial area. I really love games that clearly have had a lot of love and care put into, prioritising quality over length. I'd rather have a shorter game that I can reply with substance and care put in, than a shallow repititive rushed and stretched out story/game that wastes my time and I don't leave feeling satisfied or caring about the game at all. Well done devs

Golf With Your Friends

One of the besy multiplayer golf games

I have never been able to find a better multiplayer golf game, so when I saw it had just been added to GOG in May 2025, I bought it straight away. Such a relief that even if my Steam version dissapears, I essentially always will have my GOG copy. Naturally, because of the nature of cloud services, the multiplayer seems to only work through Gog's Galaxy, however that is understandable. Anything other option would likely require some way to create your own local personal server, a lan party type setup with cords or a split screen setup, all of which I believe isn't natively an option coded into the currently available game. Such is life, at least you can play it offline. This is one of the games I really wanted to own as I have had tonnes of fun with a couple friends sometimes on the Steam version. I will likely purchase another copy or two for friends around Christmas time. I wish there were more games like this, I think the other games similar to this one are either more cheaply made, bloated or 2D. I come for the more.... simple 3d feeling. I don't need new age graphics or god rays, just a game that feels casual and intuitive. I don't need to blow up my computer for fun. Quality over quantity. Some of the newer golf maps aren't as good as the origingal ones but I haven't played them all yet.

Calico

Cute little game

Casual calm game where you inherit your aunts cafe and can go around gathering up to ten animals (not all animals - there is no cafe animal storage expansion). You also run around meeting & doing quests for the locals. You can also make food for your cafe, it is an interesting cooking sequence where you shrink down onto the bench top and run around springing off of spoons gathering ingredients that you need (like eggs from the open fridge or sugar from in the pantry above - accessed by a funny tiny elevator I didn't see at first). Not too bad, pretty neat if you like chill short-ish games and animals. As you help the locals and do quests for them, you open up new areas. There is also a giant cat blocking the way to some areas with it's big but. You also get to ride many of the regular animals around the place (near the beginning of the game one of the npc's gives you a shrink/enlarge animals (except birds) potion- you can mount them when they are larger size generally :) Funny little feature but I enjoyed it. To me, the game has it's charms. Not a high learning barrier, which I like. It's nice to just jump into and play.

Lords of the Fallen Game of the Year Edition 2014

Not bad, not bad

There is a learning curb, at least for me. I noticed many players fall off around about the time we meet Yetka and I definitely felt more put off playing at that point but once I passed that area and built up my stats a bit and got the hang of fighting with most monsters it got a bit easier and became fun to play. This was a fair bit after exiting the initiation chamber. Maybe just before or after the second lord? Story is interesting, nothing shocking but not stale like many stories written these days. If the newer Lords of the fallen comes to GOG I might consider buying that as well. It's not as hard or as frustrating as the first Dark souls game is (I haven't played the others) so it's easier to get into but still has some challenging elements similar-ish to dark souls. Rolling a tonne, losing experience and having to retrieve it before dying again, occassionally frustrating enemies that can corner you and make you want to quit but never anywhere near the amount Dark souls did for me. I found it more intuitive and user friendly than dark souls, although I had to read some guides, I could have easily read more but chose not to just to see if I could work it out myself first and surprisingly this was possible more often than I thought it would be. I'm so glad the dialogue wasn't completely quick action choice, I hate quick action stuff like the last of us has. Some of it I accidently pressed or almost pressed something I didn't want to choose but it didn't seem to permanently alter the story much so I was ultimately relieved. The game helps you more than Dark souls, thank goodness. I like Harkyns character. It is odd that the newer game is called Lords of the fallen and so is this one (the 2014 release), so it made finding guides sometimes confusing. Some didn't look like this game and I did some research and discovered it indeed wasn't the same game... Weird naming schemes. Anywho, read a guide if you find it challenging.
