The Temple of Elemental Evil

The awesome unforgiving rules of D&D

The Temple of elemental Evil is a game based on the Dungeons & Dragons Module of the same name, regarded by some as one of the most unforgiving modules of D&D but also one of the most popular. Like the pen & paper module, The Temple of elemental Evil from Troika is hard and unforgiving. The game uses the D&D 3.5 rules and by the time I first played this game I only had an idea of what D&D was, so I ended up with a dead party on my first combat. I gave up on the game there and then, but after having tried the actual D&D pen and paper game, I got hold of some of the game's mechanics and saw where I failed before, so I decided to give the game another try! This time I was prepared, I made my party full of nice guys, a Righteous Paladin party leader, a cocky and sexy female Half-elf ranger, the not so bright fighter, the prankster Sorcerer and the reserved female cleric in a quest for wisdom. By the time of my first combat, a bard another cleric and a wizzard had joined my party, I was ambushed by Undead Gnolls and despite prevailing I was struck by the realization of how three of my original party members were dead and beyond any healing. That was when I realized that this game was one of the most perfect conversion of D&D combat rules to a video game, for I felt the same when I first tried D&D the pen and paper game, the rules were unforgiving and fun. The social aspect of the game could see some improvement but any Dungeons & Dragons fan who at the time of play lacks a group of friends to play with this can pretty much fulfill your needs. As for those who don't know how to play D&D and are interested in trying or for those who are trying to learn for themselves, I must say this is one of the best ways to practice and learn the mechanics of D&D 3.5 This game could be so much more and that is why I didn't give it 5 stars and it makes me wonder why it doesn't have a multiplayer mode or a sequel for that matter. Bear in mind that I recommend that you play this game with the Circle of Eight mod, fixes bugs and adds content.

Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice Edition

GOD LIKE

Unreal was a great refreshing game in the FPs genre in its time, unreal tournament was an awesome multyplayer game based on the same engine and universe. Unreal Tournament 2004 is the sequel to unreal tournament and runs on a better version of the engine. Unreal Tournament is still played alot on the internet, as got lots of mods and looks good even on old computers. Whats so good about GOGs version is that it's cheap, DRM-free and awesome for lan parties.

Fallout Tactics Classic

Post-Nuclear Tactical Squad Game

Fallout is nowadays a well known franchise, mainly thanks to Bethesda who bought the licence and made fallout 3. Fallout Tactics is a very different game from their numbered counterparts, while fallout 1 and 2 are turn-based RPGs, tactics is a tactical squad game with RPG elements and runs on what seems to be a variation of the fallout 1 and 2 game engine. The story is not the most exciting thing that I've heard of but it gives you an excuse to do the missions and it serves the purpose well without breaking the appeal, I just wouldn't consider it cannon because of many things that don't fit in the fallout universe. The game plays well for the role it poses, but I think one would be better served with jagged alliance for example. I loved fallout 1 and 2, and I bought this thinking that it would be at least half as engaging, my mistake, In fact I felt bored while playing the game and just because the game ins't broken it deserves a 3/5, but it fails as a fallout game, and fails as a good squad game.(I feel disappointed by this game as I felt by hellgate London).
