The game looks worse than the original. I don't see why would anyone with normal vision apply a filter that would make the same game look worse in 2018 than it did in 1993. Luckily, I bought both of the Simon games on GOG before those 25th Anniversary Editions popped up and, man, was I smart to do that. It looks like the original games are no longer available here and are replaced by these "enhanced" editions.
This is probably the worst Monkey Island adventure game - I really can't decide between this one and the one Telltale Games made - but it's still such a great adventure game. I had loads of fun with when Escape from Monkey Island was originally released, and I am finally going to have a great time with it again thanks to GOG. The only really sad part about this game is that now, many years later, it looks much worse than the Curse of Monkey Island, which was released three years before the Escape. Otherwise, it's still more or less pretty-looking and sounds amazing even now in 2018.
