I first played Knights of Honor about 15 years ago. Back then it may have been my first grand strategy game. Now it feels like my oldest grand strategy game. While it feels like a mixture of Total War and Crusader Kings it lacks the depth of either one in the grand strategy, as well as the combat. The AI is basic, Diplomacy is basic, Combat is basiy, technology is basic. While nothing is bad, nothing is particularly good either. It is a good introduction into the grand strategy genre. But if you have already played games of that kind, Knights of Honor doesn't have much left to offer. Unless you are looking for a simpler title of that kind.
