After Doom this was the very next shooter I owned. Still have the CD. First game to give me nightmares! It's fun and funny, and the music fits it perfectly!
Title says it all. No other game has influenced my life as much as this one. Wish they would have kept the Arcologies in the newer editions, or even expanded on them.
I was first enthralled by this series when I downloaded a demo of Metal Age. Playing at night, with only the glow of the PC screen to light my keystrokes, I fell in love at first sight with this dark but electric cool FPS. I later purchased (and eventually beat) The Dark Project, often replaying the final level for my amusement. Though dated the visuals still give me goosebumps, whether peering down into a cavernous hall or up at a castle skyline, this series will never be surpassed!
