This game is simply a masterpiece. Voice acting is peak performance and the writing is actually good! You can tell how much love has gone into the game. It's not as if Larian has reinvented the wheel with the story, but even if it seems to be laid on thick at first glance, there is so much depth and attention to detail in the characters and the individual storylines that it's hard to overlook. Even after playing for hundreds of hours, you can still discover new things and it's almost crazy what Larian has thought of that players can do. The turn-based battles can be quite lengthy, but that's probably a matter of taste and even if the system isn't for everyone, you can customise so much in the settings that it shouldn't detract from the great experience in the game. The result is a work of art that I can recommend to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in a fantastic, multi-layered world and experience adventures with a lot of heart and depth.
