When I saw this was free, my jaw dropped. I have poured so many countless hours into this game, spent countless more trying to get my old copy to work with Windows 7, and don't regret a single one. This game is from the creator of Age of Empires, and in an interview about it he said it was the game he originally wanted AoE to be, but wasn't allowed to make. It's a massive game with one of the largest RTS tech trees I've ever seen. You trade a slower, more strategic pace for incredible depth and complexity. The different ways you can play, especially in the later epochs, are many and varied, with each having merits to draw you in. Overall, this is the best thing you can ever get for free, bar none.
