I have 50 hours into the game. I am in the middle of Act 2. So far, this game is a masterpiece. They don't make CRPG's like this anymore. Larian clearly learned a lot making Original Sin 1 and 2. I think this is one of those games that benefited a lot from it's early access phase. If you have even a passing interest in story driven tactical RPG's, then you owe it to yourself to play Baldur's Gate 3, a game that will likely win a lot of people's "Game of the Year" for 2023.
The number of 5 star reviews is troubling. A game can be good but not perfect. Gothic has always had one major flaw, one that some people will find unforgivable, and that's the controls. They're awful. But you CAN teach yourself to get used to them and find an enjoyable game. But 5 star game this is not. Neither is it a 1 star game. I struggled between a 2 or a 3, in the end I picked 3 because there is a very deep RPG to be found. It's just... frustrating.
This includes the content from Warlords III: Reign of Heroes, which I believe was the original version of this game and Darklords Rising was an expansion. This game is fantastic and at an incredible price. One of the first and only video games I played with my dad when I was a kid.
