For all new comers, you'll get the map in < 1h of gameplay. Avoid red spikes as these are optionals and harder content. Follow the flow of the game and every bosses you'll encounter will be easy for the first 10 hours. If you have a boss fight with a long run back, you missed a bench, or attempting optional hard gauntlets. Linux support is perfect. Playing on ubuntu 24.04 with xbox 360 controller, it runs perfectly on ryzen 4700u iGPU. No controller issues that other mentioned. if you fear for your red bells currency, head back to the village and transform them into items so you always have some for a new bench :)
I'm really saddened by the fact that this game is merely "ported" to linux and on my laptop (i5 6200u/ intel hd 520) it doesn't run even remotely smoothly at 640x480 on linux (kubuntu 16.04) but really well on windows 10 ( 1280x720 )... So i'll play it on my windows partition I guess... Nevertheless, the game is beautiful and the gameplay satisfying. Just be aware, if you want to play it on linux, you'd better have a dedicated gpu.
