I love to play the games of my childhood here, so I understand that they are old games on new machines and need a work around. I couldn't fix the screen resolution here, I even freeze my computer try to fix it and push the reset button on my tower, but didn't mind all that much the wonky resolution after a bit of play, but sadly, the game at one point became unplayable, a bug make the workers go idle forever (the water workers for me), so I was not able to progress the game at all. I look on Internet for clues but nothing really work. This is the first time on the site I'm not able to fix a game, so beware and keep that in my mind, play the game a little and if it doesn't work, then I don't think there are way to fix it easily. I got it on sale for only 4$, but it money throwing in the windows I want back, so I ask for a refund.
Watching GamerZakh videos made me want to play it again. I have Windows 10 and the game works on me, I download the widescreen resolutions .exe files on WSGF, but couldn't find a 100% match. The best one has a black bar left and the icons on far right are just barely reachable, but once I get use to it I couldn't stop playing it for weeks. The game was also less buggy than when I used to play it years ago (unfinishable pyramids, etc). Still, it's hard to have control of what the workers do and go, I wonder if the remake will make things easier...
The music, the animation, the quotes, the atmosphere, so much nostalgia. I don't know which is my favorite Civilization game from the franchise between this one and Civilization 2 / ToT. It plays well on Windows 10, I had to change the resolutions in the parameters in the game for widescreen, but no need to tweak it anything like other older games I download here. I bought it at discount 75% and don't regret it.
