I pretty much never bother writing reviews but if you enjoyed the Witcher III version of this game then you may be sorely disappointed. When I noticed a bunch of negative reviews below I figured it was run of the mill players angry over minor changes stuff. I was wrong. This version of gwent incredibly feels like it has only as much if not even less depth than the first iteration of it in W3. Rather than being combative like other popular games (MTG, etc.) this is more of a see who gets the most points deal. Units have abilities that can be used offensively but their actual power is meaningless save for the final round score (no sense of building up a super mean card that can kill your opponent/their monsters via upgrades). I could go on but you get the picture. If you doubt me by all means try it, it is free after all. But if you're a fan of more standard table-top card games I think you'll be disappointed like I was. If I feel a real desire for Gwent in the future I'll probably just boot up Witcher III.
