Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition

Version 1.0.1 fixed the problem...

... with the progress after the first/tutorial level. Yes, the game is a solid, very "arcadish" fun, quite simple to control with the mouse plus 3 keyboard buttons and that's it. In the later levels it can be very hectic.

Super Chopper

Good for a coffee break and more

For these, who like simple arcade flying games with an armed helicopter (chopper), 4 type of weapons and different missions, this is a great game. Not much depth in here, but it doesn't need to be. Mouse + keyboard support is great (I played in such way), also Xinput/Xbox gamepads are supported out of the box. Not much graphics options to change, only graphics quality and turning shadows on/off. I made a gameplay video (there will also be a part 2 soon) where you can see the menus, options and some gameplay: https://youtu.be/bKclnsX4SEE It also has a level editor, but to be honest, didn't try it that much. Will try at a later time. The game didn't crash and I didn't encounter/found any bugs. Except on the windshild 🤣 For simple fun, this is it. Recommended. 👌 Played on: AMD Ryzen 2700, 32 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 1650 4GB RAM / GDRR5, 1 TB SATA SSD, Windows 10 Home 21H1 p.s.: This game is similar to the older Super Huey™ III, that was released in 2003. Super Huey III got a rerelease on digital platforms in 2020 in a slightly upgraded form. It is also available on GOG.com.

AMID EVIL Demo

Thank you for the demo. The font tho...

Most has been already written/said elsewhere, because the game was published almost two years ago, in 2019. ... Thank you for letting the potentional buyers giving the chance, to try out a level before buying the whole game. I must say, the environment graphics, sound etc. looks and sound great. The whole demo level has a very nice atmosphere. The game/demo is runing great on and Geforce 1650. One thing I am wondering is, why the used the title font everywhere? I mean EVERYWHERE. For the title it is understandable, but elsewhere... it is really hard to read. There is an option for choosing an alternative font for displaying some of the messages, but hoped, this would change the whole menu and elswhere. Sadly I doesn't. It changes only the messages, when you pick up orbs etc. That is my only gripe. Anyway, try it out, it is worth it and you will see, if this type of game is your cup of tea or not. Thanks developer/publisher!

Maximum Action

The core gameplay is fun, but...

Yes, I know this game is still in development. In the GOG forums there wasone question: does it have support for modification? Well, I can tell you, that in this state the game - at least for now - in the offline vesion doesn't have any mod support. At all. I don't use GOG Galaxy so can't say/speak for the Galaxy version, what that one has or doesn't. I made a video, where I checked the menus, tutorial, character creation, a bit of gameplay etc. Look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU0t-7bkJWg In the time of writing, this is the offline version 0.78, file name is setup_maximum_action_0.78_(47124).exe The main menu is interesting, it is like a living room with an old CRT TV, and VHS videocasettes, which you can choose. The loadings screens Anyway, the core gameplay is there, I mean it is/can be fun, especially when you blow up stuff, things are flying around and so on. The physics system is there. The weapons sounds are very good, very puncy! The music is ok for me (some say, that these are just generic tracks, the original soundtrack author left the project or whatever happened). I don't have problems with the graphics, but won't deny, that it couldn't be a bit more detailed. BTW: Dusk has similar look, buy maybe with a bit more polygons? Not sure. The environments looks very good, at least from distance. I really like the coloring, the lights/shadows. Reminds me of these late 1990s/early 2000s 3D games (Rune, Shadow Man, Soul Reaver etc.) The gameplay is, well, you know, standard FPS action, fast-paced, but you have the option for slow-motion ala Matrix/Max Payne style. You can also kick, even in middle air. The kick mechanic is nothing special, I tried it out, it does works, but maybe I don't have fast enough reflexes for it. Not sure. The levels (I tried to play the first three) last only a couple of minutes, but you can play it slowly too ;) There is an endless mode is, didn't try it. CONCLUSION: You can give it a chance, but I would say wait a bit.

Overcooked: Gourmet Edition

Great to play with kids too

This is a very good game to play with family members, especially kids :) Great fun and it can be quite hectic.

Tonight We Riot

Action game with some strategy elements

The message of the game is simple: workers are squeezed out day after day, no paycheck raise, nothing. It’s time for someone to take matters into his own hands. And this someone happens to be the game player :) The game has simple pixel graphics, yet enough for what it is. It has an arcade vibe, simple to control, what do you want more? It is playable with mouse + keyboard or controller/gamepad. Didn't encounter any bugs. I liked it and fully recommend it. Played on: Ryzen 1600AF, 32 GB RAM, Geforce 1650, Windows 10 64-bit Home, SATA SSD

Jagged Alliance: Rage!

It is playable...

...but the UI could be much more intuitive. The sound is ok, the music is good. I am playing it in german language, after some thinkering. For that I had to manually rename the "german.csv" to "english.csv" (of course I made a copy of this) inside the folder "C:\GOG games\Jagged Alliance Rage\JAN_Data\StreamingAssets\localization". The interesting thing is, that you can switch the spoken audio inside the game's settings. Why didn't they do the same for the text? This will propably stay a mistery forever. About the graphics: they seem to have tried to archive a cartoonish look similar to maybe Team Fortress, but a bit more gritty. Not really my cup of tea. The environment is ok, the camera can be turned around since it is a 3D game. But you cannot manually zoom in or out. That will do the game for you automatically, this depends on the situation. The game is made in Unity, so be prepared, that you CPU/GPU fans will sometimes be louder... So, is this a real Jagged Alliance game? In name only. The whole gameplay feels like a kind of expanded mobile game. A bit sluggish and well, not really that much fun. Sadly. I don't say, that it is unplayable, it is not. But... ah, I don't know. It is maybe good for a casual player, like myself. For a round or two. Do I recommend it? Well, if you need to play every turn-based game out there, than maybe. But if you wan't proper JA experience, I recommend you play the older games or look elsewhere. If yo still want to play it, I recommend you to use the "Jagged Alliance Rage! Loot and Weapons Rebalance" mod, that you can find on moddb.com. It makes many corrections./fixes The mod author also included a fix for the tutorial, wherer there is a bug in the section, where you need to crouch and something you cannot finish the turn.
