The game itself is great. Releasing it using always online DRM is not.
The Infernal Machine is a fantastic, much overlooked game It's easy to make the comparison to Tomb Raider, but the gameplay here is more an evolution of the previous adventure games. There is very little combat was a huge focus on puzzle solving, with the occasional navigation. cWhich is a good thing, as the combat is very weak. It's also a pretty long game spanning some 18 levels. And these levels are fairly huge and complex, especially by the simplicity of todays standards. The game comes patched up, and mostly works for me barring some control issues, particularly with the steam controller and settings resetting on launch, If you're looking for a good solid adventure and don't mind some dated graphics and slower gameplay, it's a bargain.
Pretty bad. Won't pick up fight-stick, need keys emulated. Half the time it jumps out of the menu, crashes Steam (forced to use overlay) edit exes and all sort of things just to get it running. Spending 30 min - 50 min trying to get a game working is not a good product to sell. The worst? Warn Bros already has a good version. I own it. But can't play it due to GFWL, which they couldn't be bothered removing. So I paid again, for an inferior version, that still doesn't work properly. Yay!
Great game, absalutely terrible port. - Absalutely no control options, none. You're control pad not configured properly? Well, too bad. Enjoy not playing it. - No graphic options like filters or resolution - Very long and unskippable start up credits outside of the game itself I bought this, it's a great game. But the sad fact is, "other means" of playing are far superior. And it shouldn't be that way, it smacks of lazyness.
