An absolute gem of a game. Rune has a lengthy singleplayer campaign, with locations ranging from dwarven fortresses, snow-capped towns and an evil underworld packed with the undead, yeti's and badass vikings! Multiplayer is basically third-person Quake with more gore - it rocks! Human Head makes great use of the Unreal engine, the levels are massive and colourful, and the ability to drop or throw any weapon is a great touch. The camera system is elegant and unobtrusive, and the controls are easy to learn but hard to master (unlike it's contemporaries Heretic 2, Severance or FAKK 2). Rune still holds up. Any fans of third-person slashers should check this out.
