Just playing through the single-player campaign gives hours of exciting and challenging game-play. The ability to increase the resolution to more 'modern' levels is nice and worked well for me. The team-based rounds do feel a bit dated since I find the AI on my team often doesn't behave in a very sophisticated way but it is possible to finish the game eventually and it feels like a good level of challenge. Totally reccomend for some exciting (sometimes tantrum-inducing), fast-twitch fun.
I was able to install and run this game without issues - it runs well and is way better than the old days of having to CD swap to load different areas. You have to play this game slowly and carefully, probably with a pen and paper beside your PC. You have to learn to trust the game - nothing in it is accidental. This precice puzzle solving and quiet thinking leads to a large sense of achievement at solving the puzzles. There is a story but the game is about the puzzles. If this appeals to you then it's a classic that's worth your time, if not then please avoid - you won't come around to it if you don't think it's your thing after the 1st hour of playtime.
