Nostalgia attack!!! These remastered editions by Double Fine from golden-era LucasArts are priceless for me. Nostalgia aside, as with DF's other remastered editions, this is not some slap-dash attempt to make money off our nostalgia. It's obvious that they put in a lot of effort restoring the game with HD graphics and nice cleaned up sound. I'm especially enjoying the HD cutscenes. The effort is clear when switching seamlessly between the the original and remastered with F1, which also shows the different aspect ratio and the new art they needed to add to fill in the widescreen. Top quality! Thank you, DF and GOG. Please continue the tradition with remastering Loom, Indiana Jones Last Crusade/Fate of Atlantis, Maniac Mansion and the other classics!

This game had ground-breaking FMV animations in its time. I distinctly remember getting it on CD when it came out. It was one of the very first games on CD-ROM after Myst. The highlight of this game are, as others have noted, not so much the gameplay itself, but the animated cutscenes, art design, its odd story, unique and well fleshed-out world and last but not least, the excellent music. Judging it by its merits (and a little nostalgia), I give it 5 stars.

This game really has no relation whatsoever with the first 2 gems in this series (Simon3D easily ignored). Painfully unfunny and badly written dialogue, terrible gameplay (stupid puzzles), no signature Simon charm or wit, boring story and dull characters. The only positive comment I could make is in the art department, i.e. colourful environments and a nice art style that fits the fairy tale nature of the subject matter. Shame for the artists' work that the rest of it is rubbish. Avoid this one.
