This is a Sierra classic I played as a kid but didn't get very far due to the copy protection. You have to create prescriptions for the citizens (obviously), but the recipes are found in the manual. Nowadays with the internet those can be found on walkthrough sites and such. There is charm galore including bad puns and self-referential humor.
A wonderful point-and-click adaptation of the movie, although I have never seen the film. I have read the book twice, however. As can be expected, it has a noir-style detective setting. I like the branching paths and different endings based on your actions.
This forgotten Sierra classic is definitely worth getting. It takes awhile for the game to get going, but once it does it is absolutely lovable. The charm is great and the humor is wonderful. The animation is just a tiny bit above CDi, but it's tolerable. The game is surprisingly more like a LucasArts game: you can't make the game unwinnable, you have a try again button, and the puzzles are hard. There is a hint system, but it is almost useless. My favorite part of the game is the Bitternuts, a parody of 1950s sitcoms.
