I don't know whether it's because of my playing on an integrated graphics card or what, but the game crashes all the time it's infuriating. The game itself is good. Kinda repetitive but I'm okay with that. I don't see much point in continuing to play it after you unlocked the biggest ship and finished the story but it's a fun experience. The music is good or even great if you don't mind it repeating quite a bit, it still feels relevant after a while. All in all a good game with a lot of great ideas and an astonishing optimisation of the graphics engine (Again, I play with basically no graphics card). But man the crashes will drive you crazy.
I know that fanboys and fangirls may frown upon a title like this but yeah it's my favlorite and I played them all. I loved the possibilities and flexibility brought by the new game mechanics and how the hero was made more important. My cousin and I used to beat entire armies with just our heroes. It gave me a sense of adventure such as no HOMM did before. And the music.. So beautiful. I loved HOMM3 which remains a masterpiece but HOMM4 holds a special place in my heart.
I've played hundreds of games. Maybe Thousands. Thoroughly. And I can tell you this, I've never played a game that got as close to perfection as The Witcher 3 did. I won't tell you for what technical reasons I believe so, you'll find those everywhere on the internet and from people who speak much better than me so I just wanted to share my feelings about this game. The Witcher 3 is the purest, most lovingly made video gaming experience I've ever had. From music to gameplay to visuals to plot and so on, and so on. Everything was made with love and deep respect for video gaming. When I launch the game I listen to the whole team several times over before I load my game. I don't fast-travel to enjoy the living, lush, coherent, stunning scenery. Nothing in this game was rushed and sloppy. Nothing. And what can I say about the story, rich, breathtaking, immersive, full of colourful people. If I had anything bad to say about it would be about the horse that feels a bit uncomfortable at times, the fact that you can (and should) go about looting houses and streets unpunished when a "law enforcement" system actually exists as well as the inability to follow custom markers on the map. These aspect are but drops in an ocean of fun. This is how I feel about TW3. Others might have felt differently and honestly wish I could know how they did not love this game. The game is on sale every now and then and drops around 25€ which is nothing compared to the amount of fun you'll get so buy it. Seriously, do it now.
