I've been playing card games in physical form for almost as long as they've been around. When I played Witcher 3 I ended up losing hours upon hours playing Gwent instead of trying to find Ciri. After that I hoped CDPR would make a standalone Gwent which they did. I've been a pretty consistent playing almost daily. I love how generous the game is with rewards such as keys, kegs, scraps and powder which allows for someone who wishes to be free to play to actually achieve that and get what they need to be competitive with time and practice.
I admit it I'm a CDPR/Witcher universe fan! That said this is my first review on gog as well as one of if not the first game I've ever pre-ordered because from my perspective they have earned that from me. I really enjoyed Thronebreaker! I've been a ccg player for most of my life so when I see a new one come out it's at the very least a must try for me. I liked old Gwent before the shenanigans of mid winter patch. I thoroughly enjoy HC Gwent as well. The elements of a card game and an rpg for Thronebreaker I think are really fun. Are there some issues with the game? Sure but I have faith that CDPR will fix them. I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough as it even on the hardest mode it is a bit easy except with a few battles but I'm playing it again as I missed some things during my playthrough and genuinely want to experience the other endings to the game.
I was gifted a copy of this game by my cousin and I absolutely LOVE this game! I have lost count how many times I have gone through it changing my answers ever so slightly as to get different respnses from the various NPC's. I loved playing this game so much I went back and purchased 1 and 2 myself to complete the trilogy. Having played them all now from beginning to end I have an even greater appreciation for The Witcher 3. Definitely one of the best games I have ever played regardless of the platform they were one. All three Witcher games are worthwhile and highly recommended.
