I think the anti-piracy implimentation is being triggered. After starting the Federation Task Force campaign I am being sent on an alternate campaign of "Fed_Special2" and "Fed_Special3". Fed_Special3 is an escort mission. Your objective is to capture what seems to be a mirror universe Organian Q-like being, in a "mandoss system" apparatus. The mission seems more like a Doom inspired easter egg. Only it seems to be unwinnable, and appears to be intended to infuriate the player intentionally.
