Strange how a horror game where you play the monster can creep you out anyway. It's basically an action-survival-puzzle horror game set as a 2D semi-platformer that lets you play as a huge mass of fleshy tendrils with teeths and eyes that moves around at ludicrous speeds, eats human flesh and breaks stuff. You complete the different levels of the labs by solving puzzles, eating human flesh and amassing biomass, and you unlock new powers à la Metroid-style by finding biohazardous materials hidden here and there. Controls are intuitive and smooth, pixel graphics are masterfully done -and friggin gruesome-, the atmospheric soundtrack is great, and the game itself is jampacked with action. I can't get over the nightmarish implications around this creature either. Feels like a precursor to "Prototype" mixed-in with Lovecraftian mythos.
