

Double damage was mostly a late-game thing in the first Hollow Knight. Here it's so much early and present among common enemies, making those starting 5 HP points insignificant. Some boss fights were alright. Some drag on for too long (come on, I staggered the enemy 4 or 5 times and it's still not over). There's nothing satisfying about having to run back only to spend so much time on a boss fight or a gauntlet with no end in sight, die, rinse, repeat, run out of shards, go farm shards, return to where you got stuck, repeat. I would wait until mods come out for this game that will make the experience easier and more enjoyable.
