If you've made it this far into Higurashi but are hesitating about continuing, maybe worried that the writing will become formulaic, or the setting stale, or the answers won't live up to head cannon - don't fret. Tsumihoroboshi keeps the psychological horror and drama high with constant changes in narrators and points of view. Even after 5 chapters in the same small village and time frame, Hinamizawa and its inhabitants are still fresh. By the end, the world will make a bit more sense ... and you'll get out your wallet to buy the next chapter so you can figure out answers to even more questions. The last 3 chapters were emotionally draining for me (that's a good thing). This chapter did not make me tear up or blanche as often as previous ones did, but it did make me squirm. It never failed to fill me with that wonderful sense of dread Higurashi is so good at imparting on its readers. Keep playing.
