Cyberpunk greatness

Cyberpunk games and especially good genre games are soo rare and finding a little gem like this is always worth writing a few lines and suggesting it too anyone with an interest in the genre. Slow start that soon blooms in a interesting story with great sidequests, combat mechanics, ability upgrades and an urge to discover every possible secret the city holds. The negatives are the initial frustrating hacking sections that require investment in skill points and that in endgame become boring and repetitive, not to mention they are used for the unsatisfactoyr finale.

Nostalgia of good times past

Its always a joy playing a Cyan game and this was no different. Great first impression. Wandering a new strange world is always a joy. The core concept is interesting, but the mistery of who the "antagonists" are and why all the events happen still remain unknown. Visually impressive, nice ambient sound and music. The puzzles will not get you stuck, but the navigation will. Pogression will often depend on some hidden door or passage. Negatives: - Buttons hitboxes are too small - Phot mode mostly useless, as most photos taken become too dark. No zoom function. Navigation with controller awful and scrolling not working. - HDR option alters color and ambient tone too much resulting in a oversaturated mess. Notes on white paper become unreadable. - Labyrinth puzzle artificially complicated, out of logic placement and lore wise badly designed - Some puzzles dont give audio-visual feedback on correct completition and require even more backtracking - random stutters, some heavy ones, even on high end machines - Finale too quickly thrown together - Miller acting as redneck - Short

Local co-op marvel

Worth 5 stars for the newly implemented local co-op alone. Protagonist voiced by Geralt of Rivia, narrator from the Stanley Parable. It's a deadly combo. Great gameplay and controls, good learning curve, beatiful visuals and sounds. The negative bits are a clunky user interface, especially on the character equip screen, limited destiny cards points when paired with the variety of available cards and combo options. Transmutation is too much rng based and the clunky ui quickly gets tedious to mix and upgrade stuff.

No Man's Sky

A great lesson in advertising

As the title says this game is a masterpiece in advertising, as in its core concept of misleading in the most entertaining way. Tales will be told in future design classes to how sell hype and deliver emptyness. In short: stay away from this fraud product. Not worth 60 bucks. Not wort 9 bucks. Not worth for free. Not worth your time.

STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic

Strong roots

Since i played Mass Effect before this it was like a jump back to the past at the roots of one of the best sci-fi series we now have. Having only recently started playing on PC, i never had the opprtunity to play it and i missed quite a lot. Its a damn fine game and demonstrates Bioware character development quality. No spoilers: the story in itself is decent. Nothing as groundbreaking as some reviews make it sound. What goes into history of gaming is the plot twist tho. From a technical point of view, playing it in 2014, it holds up good. 16:9 works fine, aside from the fade to black in 4:3. On Win 7 64bit i used the fullscreen tip as suggested on this forum and had not a single problem. The movies only crashed the game 2 times and it happened after long gaming sessions. Modded the game with textures and models from Nexus and Moddb without problems. Worth the full price.
