this game is fantastic. compared to the other yakuzas, I'm not super into the jrpg mechanics but I like them enough. that's my review, solid game. I just wanted to say to sega that I bought the 70$ edition JUST to support this game getting free'd from the shackles of denuvo drm on steam. I don't know how cdprojekt got you guys onboard but just know, for EVERY GAME THAT HAS DENUVO ON STEAM THAT DOESN'T HERE, I WILL BUY. this is ignoring my bias for steam and not liking gog for not making a galaxy client on steamdeck that has cloud and achievement support. i am willing to look past all my discomforts when you remove that unholy garbage known as DENUVO from your games. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. next if you wanna put persona 5 on here, or strikers or persona 4 or sonic origins on here, I'll double dip and buy it again drm free on here. not a fan of the pricing but any price is worth it for removing denuvo. I hope I see more games from you guys here and I hope you eventually remove the drm from the steam versions too. welcome to gog sega.
I grew up with the original and I loved the original bfbb. to this day, I still play the original on dolphin emulator. that being said, when this remake was announced, I was very happy to see that this even was a thing. now I got it, drm free and all and it's a pretty good remake. that beng said, this remake has quite a few hiccups which should be adressed in patches. the first thing that comes to mind is the very easy to do, out of bounds glitch. you can do this many ways (which is sad) but ho i figured out how to do this was if you keep jumping out of bounds and wait for the hand to take you away and release you, you can spam the jump button to go higher so if you keep going out of bounds and spamming for abit, you can reach high altitudes and eventually, the hand gives up and you can go out of bounds freely. so a bunch of glitches as well as how geometrey works for example, the tilting platforms in jellyfish fields. these DO NOT WORK AT ALL LIKE THE ORIGINAL and they just spaz out when you try to jump off at the end of them (i'm referring to the long one just before you fight king jellyfish) some moves need sprucining up but the one that really comes to mind is the sliding down slopes segment. the way it controls needs more tweaking to make it feel like the original title. overall, you can see how it was rushed and cut corners. other than the flaws and the lackluster multiplayer which i have not tried yet, this is a faithful remake and I quite enjoy playing it. hopefully this gets dlc with new levels/content and whatnot but I'm not holding my breath.
all I had too do was click the store page and watch the video for 5 seconds and see that yogscast logo. nope.
put your older good games on this platform, not bad games.
I will say this right now, I have not been so preocupied with a game nay, an an rpg in many many years. the only jrpgs that I was this invested in was the persona series and smt nocturne. if you love those game, you will LOVE this game. great story, great gameplay, great presentation and if you're a weeb like me, this is a must buy. there are alot of people that will buy this amazing game and be dissapointed that has no dual audio. I for one was very dissapointed as well. luckily xseed has made it very easy for you to manually mod the japanese va's back in the game. to get the japanese voices, all you gotta do is go too falcom's discord server and look in the community section. you will find a mega link that has the files you need to mod the game and it is very easy to do so. you WILL have to have a dicord account to do this however and I don't know if the links were posted outside of the discord. back to the game, it's fantastic and you will really enjoy it. these games apparently take place in the trials of sky series but the games do a good job a straying away from that main plot of the whole series so you do not need to play older entries in the series before you play this unless you really, REALLY love the lore. fie is best girl. review over.
if you like twin stick shooters and hard as hell games, GET THIS GAME. you will NOT be dissapointed.
