A really well made, well presented modern horror point and click adventure game. The sound and music are great, the music/ effects really contribute to a moody atmosphere and the voice acting was a high light for me. The visuals can shift from mundane to beautiful to haunting, and if the colours are a little muted, it fits the tone and can be jarring in the right moments. The interface and controls are very straightforward and simple, good for newcomers and veterans alike. The story prefers slow building dread, not really any jump scares here. While I didn't love every element of the story, if you like horror, you'll enjoy this. I'm not really a horror fan, and I found a lot to like here. One of the best modern point and click adevntures I've played.
An excellent classic that really holds up. The visuals are good, colourful and easy to read (particularly in the alien designs) despite its age. The mission maps have some pretty good variety in terms of terrain and location, which keeps things fresh. The sounds/ music are decent, I don't know that anything really stands out but nothing sounds grating. Gameplay-wise, the game is divided between base management (including research, resource management, staff management, etc.), and third person tactical missions. Both work really well, with neither feeling short-changed for the other (though you might start saving scumming on the missions!). There's good lore in the game involving the aliens, and there's good variety to the enemies you'll come across. There's plenty of content to dig into, and if any of this sounds like it might be remotely interesting to you, I'd recommending picking it up, especially at such a good price.
The presentation is excellent, great artwork and animation, very good music and voice acting. The puzzles are decent, you probably won't be stuck on anything for too long. Can't remember any moon logic style puzzles, but also nothing too challenging if you're looking for something more difficult (the game can give hints in dialogue, some are extremely obvious). It took me about 6 hours to finish the game, it felt a little short, that's my main criticism. But it was a lot of fun, and the voodoo elements give it a unique feel. If you like point and click adventure games, give it a go.
