Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

Highly dissapointing

As a fan of the Witcher series, I picked up Gwent on the PC to continue the beloved card game. This lead me to try out Thronebreaker; the stand-alone RPG version of the game. I went into it thinking it would be similar to Gwent, with an RPG element to procuring cards, yet it's nothing at all like Gwent. The game plays as an odd card-based puzzle game instead, with no common elements to tie anything together. The puzzle maps don't function at all like Gwent and play as more frustrating than fun. The battles themselves; the entire point of purchasing the game, are similarly odd. What I assumed was just going to be Gwent against AI, is just more weird puzzle elements, where you're trying to complete objectives within a battle that are often confusing and, again, not fun. This game would have been much more enjoyable as a straight ahead Gwent game with some mild RPG/quest elements, but the game play jumps the shark. About 3 hours into it (including game crashes which are frequent on my system) and I'm not going to be picking it back up again.
