For every year that passed since Baldur's Gate 2's release, a worthy sequel felt less and less likely. So when a third entry emerged 23 years laters the expectations almost felt unfair. But not only does it surpass its predecessors in every aspect, it changes what one can expect from a modern RPG. If you have any other RPGs you were planing on playing I'd say finish them first before playing Baldur's Gate 3. Because it's really hard to go back to other RPGs after playing this one.
