I really really really, really, REALLY wish developers would bother to Q&A their products even just a little. Most of the issues I have encountered so far were within the first few hours of playing.. The actual game is incredibly fun! The COOP so far seems to be a buggy and janky mess of proportions most epic. If you or your partner leave the session the game locks up for the other person if they are not in the menu. The non host cannot use injury kits on NPCs. There are numerous desync issues with enemy and ally health, status ailments, and other stuffs. Swapping characters from one player to another is.. odd. Why? In Divinity you open a menu and move them around live. Not here! You open the main menu then press "squad management" then wait until a screen pops up then both players must hit confirm. Entering conversations already in progress takes one round of dialogue to properly sync up. Because of the lockup issue players can not join then re-enter active coop sessions. I am certain as we play more discoveries will be made. It feels like a single player game with coop bolted onto it. If you are purchasing this specifically with the coop in your mind be cautious and prepare for troubleshooting. Much much of the troubleshooting. If you can deal with this, it is worth it. One additional thing, I could not imagine attempting to coordinate playing this without a voip client especially if you wish to have two custom characters per player. I am in the same room as my partner and it is STILL a nightmare.
Alrighty then, first things first! This must now be brief because 2000 characters is not enough for a review. Before purchasing do not believe the recommended requirements, they are a lie. A 770 is NOT ENOUGH, a 550 would probably burst into flames attempting to even launch the game. There is something wrong with the game engine that brings hardware to its knees. I would at least have a 2060 Super or equivalent as a minimum. My 780ti which is somewhat close to a 1060 3gb struggles on low during certain areas yet blasts through Doom Eternal. Why!? Are we tessellating rocks in the floor Crysis 2 style? Please devs either fix this or update the requirements on here they are most misleading. I would happily increase this to four stars were it not for the above. Half the time lowering settings does absolutely nothing to alleviate performance issues. Everything else about this I would mention breeches the limited space here so I shall end with this. I highly recommend getting Divinity 2 if you have friends and are looking for a most enjoyable trpg coop experience and there are not many of those. Just make sure your pc can run it first. You have been warned. It's kinda sad because there's so much good about this game but the bad things really really make it hard to give it a full recommendation. If I were playing alone I would have shelved this one many hours ago. The coop kept me playing.
