Not worth it. The parrallels to FTL are obvious and aparent to anyone that plays it for a few minutes and despite the main critism that is aimed at FTL, that it is too difficult and relentlessly difficult, were never issues that I really had when playing. Don't get me wrong, it could be harsh and unforgiving, but ultimately I have always felt in control of my ship and the combat that you find yourself mixed up in. That is not the case with Convoy (without including both the various bugs and sloppy UI). Don't get me wrong, I love the concept, but far too often the mission, repeated until tedium sets in, feels utterly out of your hands, the map far too scattered and bland, and the most frustrating part, that you have no real ability to be a real threat to your enemies unless you are lucky enough to stumble upon better equipment and weapons, even then far too often you will get hit by multiple "random" combats that leave even the best equipped posses, beaten broken and bloodied and heading into the next unescapeable fight with nothing to defend yourself against the onslaught. Ultimately I love a good challenge and I enjoy games that test and push me, but there also has to be an element of fun and gameplay involved, after all, that is why I am playing the game in the first place. Without this, I will happily leave this in my library and play the many more fun rogue likes that are out there.
