I would never have expected to play in 2024 a game so inspired by the historic Gothic series, which many of us still have in our hearts after twenty years, that was also original in its own way. Drova is an open world Action RPG in a 2.5D style that offers a top-notch exploration of the game world, a combat system that seems banal at first glance but that instead improves and becomes more complex as time passes and with the development of the character, a good amount of quests and two factions to choose from. The world is certainly hostile especially to newcomers and you have to bend over backwards just to be accepted by the others, not to mention the monsters that populate the areas just off the beaten path that are ready to tear the character to pieces. The road is hard, growth is slow but soon with a little patience, a little risk and a sharp eye the player will have the upper hand and when he is more confident here is the story and the game world begin to unravel involving ancient lost civilizations, deities and much more. Let's say that the work done by Just2D for me was above expectations. Basically they did a great job on every front but I would advise them to make a little more effort in a future title and add some content because with a similar setting and an original idea regarding the main quest it seemed to me that everything happened a bit hastily and there is a lack of depth and sense of belonging to the factions. However, Drova is an excellent Action RPG, like few of them nowadays, highly recommended for all lovers of the genre and even more so for those who are long-time players and nostalgic for Gothic. 2000 words are too few, I had written 7000 but unfortunately the reviews on GOG have a limit. Anyway, watch some videos and find out more about this game because it is worth it!
