Cyberpunk 2077

A great but unfinished game.

I have been playing the game since launch and since I have a fairly beefy PC I can run the game smoothly even with maxed out Raytracing. And I can clearly see that there is a truly awesome game here, it is gorgous to look at and at times it is truly immersive. But it is also clearly not finished when it comes to the technicall problems that is plaguing this game. This is supposed to be a truly immersive experience but I keep getting pulled out of it by these constant annoying hickups. Be it the disgusting pop-in of assets, like clutter, pedestrians, cars etc. Even objects fairly close to be does not get rendered until I am pretty much right on top of it. My character has no reflection in anything unless I manually go up to a mirror and use it. And even then my character sometimes bug out. And with all these gorgous RT reflections, not seeing your character is just another immersion breaking instance. And there are constantly floating weapons, clutter or odd animations going on. And this seems to happen pretty much all the time, even when reloading a scene it still happens. CDPR has been one of my all time favorite developers, because I felt that they truly cared about their products and not just money. Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. But seeing them release this game in such a state and even try to hide that by blocking reviewers from showing footage before launch is just greed defined. I am so sad to see they go down this route. I guess when you get big enough, it inevitably happens. This is probably the years greatest disappointment, and it is such a shame as it was one of my most anticipated games this year, and such a sad ending to the gaming year. I will probably change this review once patches have fixed most of the problems, I just hope it won't take too long. But I think this game needed like 6 more months of development.
