Blackwell Bundle

Five Excellent Game Series

No spoilers here. Yet again, these are excellent point-and-click games from Wadjet Eye Games with great voiceovers, stories, music and atmosphere. Rosangela is a spiritual medium similar to Melinda Gordon in the Ghost Whisperer TV series, and Joey is a reluctant but cool spirit guide from the '30s, always attached to you, but only visible to you and ghosts you help transition to the afterlife. You get to play both roles. It will help you to remember to use your notebook to interview everyone you talk to, and use it to join clues to get new leads and map addresses - your phone, phonebook, and computer also provide clues. Each game has standalone stories but there is also a bigger story arc so you won't regret buying all five games; I'd advise you to buy them as a bundle. It's a cool series. You get drawn into the story and characters in a way you didn't think you could especially with a retro, pixelated game. Order of the titles: Blackwell Legacy, Blackwell Unbound (prequel to Legacy and Joseph Mitchell is a real person), Blackwell Convergence (6 mths after Legacy), Blackwell Deception, and Blackwell Epiphany (final game).

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

Horror at it's Best

Before there was Resident Evil there was Alone in the Dark. This is the game that started it all off. Alone in the Dark 4 - The New Nightmare is one of the all-time classics. It's got a great story, great horror atmosphere, great graphics, and great lighting. A truly spooky old style horror game. Did you ever turn on a movie without reading the scenario and enjoyed the beginning more than usual? Or did you ever listen to a friend tell you all the best bits and then go see it and find that your expectancy rate was too high? I also think a good tip after a reviewer played a game that left them feeling frustrated etc would be to read the walkthrough as they may not have noticed something obvious like ammo or med kits in a crate nearby etc. I feel this would create more accurate reviews. No spoilers here. Get it and be pleasantly surprised.
