Even though this game is fairly short (a few hours), it nevertheless felt like the best gaming experience I have ever had. Even better is that it makes one want to spend a summer doing this firewatch thing. Just hoping that nothing happens, of course :) The game had a weird quirk when I first started it due to multiple input devices, but a simple checkbox in the game's settings to ignore other input devices than the mouse (controllers, etc.) fixed this and I was in business.
It sounds cool to have a fully 3D version of the classic Myst game, but the reality is less cool. The game will always crash on Windows 7 and up when you start it. Only after fiddling with compatibility settings, or even patching the .exe and worse will you be able to even start a game. After this, the game is rife with control issues. Accuracy such as when trying to hit buttons is poor at best, and often simple actions like turning a valve turn into a far more frustrating experience than it should be. It's a shame that this game is basically worthless in 2018. Maybe if they ever do a new 3D remake will it be worth playing. Until then stick to the original version. It may be less flashy, but your blood pressure will hit far less worrisome levels.
