Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™

More than a game. A CULT GAME!

Like the third Indiana Jones movie (The Last Crusade) was the best in the series, this game IS THE best from the gaming point of view (in Indy series). It's LucaFilm as it best. The music score, he atmosphere, the puzzles, the humour, different paths... but all this can be found in other games too, so why is this one so special (to me at least). Well, maybe because I am Indiana fan, but beside that - it's somewhat REAL. Many other adventures (I am looking at you Monkey Island) makes you feel, like you are in some fantasy world and that pretty much sucks, but Indiana character makes you feel like you are really in 1938 (if I remember correctly), discovering the ancient mysteries. Thanks GOG, after Tex Murphy series, you made my day again. I bow to you!

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure

It's TEX. One of the best games. EVER.

And thanks to the kickstarter, they made him alive. The moment, we - the die hard fans of Tex Murphy games, have been waiting for...ermmm...14 years (I think). It's funny though, when I first get my hands on (for me) first Tex game (Under the killing moon), I was around 18 years old and this game was something totally different as other games on PC playing back than...As so many others, I could relate to this future 3d environment and for a moment, it was just as I was truly there. Now, when I am 38, and for todays society standard - an elderly gamer:) - the felling was pretty much the same. Oh BOY, It's Tex again (well, honestly...in my age, there are only 3 games that still intrigues me: Tex Murphy, Civilisation, Far Cry). Did it match my expectations? Well...for the most time - YES. But on the other hand - it has it's flaws. So I will stick with them - since there are almost all positive reviews. I will start at the end, since i was a little bit desperate. Well, I expected to be longer. It's SHORT. There are like 3 different locations. Plus, since there are different endings (which is great), but one wrong answer (well, since it's hard to say, which is wrong or not) could get you to unwanted ending (hey...don't tell me, you didn't want to live happily after with Chelsea, and not some transvestite...). Than are the puzzles - this is the biggest FAIL. There are simple to many of them. Hey Aaron, I know you want, that the game will last longer, but you can do that with more detective work, not some stupid puzzles (I am looking at you, puzzle in mansion and time puzzle at he end). The final problem was the problem with the sound on Chandler Avenue. The fix didn't do (I was playing on mac, and maybe that was the problem. But anyhow, TEX IS BACK, and that's all that counts. It could be better and longer and it could be MORE expensive. For us, fans, the price is not the problem and it was almost to low. I missed box collector edition for 150 bucks. Still 5 stars!!!

Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon

BEST ADVENTURE GAME...EVER!

For me, I guess...Why? Beats me...there is something about Tex Murphy that I can't describe. The Noir feeling? The first person view movent, which gives you impression, that you're actually realy there? The superb humor? Intriging story? Being a P.I.? Breaththaking music score? Hard to tell...but ever since i got in hand this game in 1994 when I was 18 years old...i simply felt in love with it. The only thing that bother me back than, was a slow PC which couldn't face the burden of high tech graphic (if i correctly renemebr it was a pentium with 3D voodoo graphic accelerator...never mind)...so when you moved around in full screen mode - it was like watching diapositives:) the other thing that bothered me was the dixk swapping. Now in 2011, thanks to GOG team, the copy of UAKM finally landed on my beloved macbook air and worked flawlessly there on Win7..I was so happy...like a kid in a candy store. After years of trying to figure out the Dos Box system and cd swaping - there was a simplified solution for only 10 bucks. That's like - a free game:) So...do yourself a favour - buy this jewel - as for me - this game made my life happier. Whenever I feel down, there will always be a Tex Murphy which will bring me up. Thanks to the GOG team (and people on Access software if I renember correctly), that made one human life on this earth happy as a hippo:)
