the Game runs quite well on modern systems, but it adds ugly black bars to the sides of the widescreen monitors. future updates should just stretch to fullscreen, no black bars to the sides. its an older game, no ones going to care if its stretched, after all. otherwise, its a great game for its time, a must play.
Victoria 2 is one of the best games, and i would easily buy it again, full price without complaints, as for why: 1. the price is fine, as GoG takes a cut, paradox takes a cut. frankly. they could probably charge it higher and id still buy it. anyone whining about the price clearly does not understand that the game is endlessly replayable, and you easily, very easily, get your moneys worth out of the game. 2. the game not having multiplayer is fine, even desirable, as, in my opinion, paradox games are far too complex for any sort of multiplayer. they could axe that entirely in favor of a better single player experience. 3. this version does not use steam. that alone makes it the only viable version for me and other players who cant or wont use steam. frankly, i have been waiting for years to get a nice, legal, non steam version.
