Prison Architect

Auto-installs Paradox Launcher

It doesn't even tell you it's about to install this launcher when trying to install the actual game. Worthless. Why would anybody put up with this crap? Avoid this game.

Cyberpunk 2077

Unfinished mess

I'll keep this short. The game has numerous bugs and glitches, many of which affect gameplay or even progress. While the main story is enjoyable, the gameplay suffers from so many instances of mechanical errors that even that suffers. Think grenades that don't get thrown and sit in the air in front of you exploding and killing you, sniper rifles that don't fire or register any sort of input, cops materializing right behind you, inexplicably dying while running, etc. This is to say nothing of absurd graphical glitches which abound on Reddit and Youtube. This game is such a mess I can't recommend it. I'll spend some time playing starting to enjoy it, then the game just slaps me in the face. CDPR have enjoyed hijacking the bad pr of other game companies to make themselves look good (just look at their Twitter) and this game really walks back any sort grace they may have gained in the game's industry. They released this broken game in order to make holiday sales. The ironic memes of corporate greed are flooding in.

Dust: An Elysian Tail

Really good game

Basically, it feels like a Miyazaki movie made into a game. Similar level of quality to where talking animals don't feel so absurdly childish. I just wish GOG had gotten this game earlier than now because I've already bought it on Steam and I prefer buying games here when I can.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

FRUSTRATING!!

Just about everything with this game is top notch (story, atmosphere, characters, graphics, etc.) except combat. It's not necessarily cheap just extremely difficult. I'm playing on normal difficulty and death can be almost instantaneous. Because the dodge mechanism is too sluggish to be useful, I downloaded the semi-official combat mod 2. It was supposed to make your characters movements quicker. But it really hasn't upgraded the experience like I was hoping. Enemies still try to surround you and attack all at once. The only way I manage to stay alive is to run like hell and catch each enemy separately. It's really a shame because I love everything else about this game. As I'm too old to still be interested in games like Final Fantasy, this was the adult experience I've been looking for. It doesn't try to cater to a wide demographic but instead assume that you're mature enough to appreciate it's subtleties. I'm going to keep playing it even if I have to play on easy [sigh of shame] because it's that compelling. Easily a Five star, perfect rating if not for the combat (a significant part of the game) being broken.
