It's okay but it could have been better
I think this is an okay remaster of the game. There were some things that could have been improved for this release, but I think that the overall Crysis feeling of the original release is there. I don't find the graphics very impressive as of now (I even experienced some graphical popping), but understandable (the overall graphics, not the graphical popping) since this is a remaster and not a remake.
When it comes to gameplay, there are some things that I don't like about this game:
- Movement. I think Nomad walks too slowly. If you want to get from one place to another without wasting time, sprinting is the only real option. Because sprinting boosts Nomad’s speed so much, once you switch to walking the contrast is very harsh.
- VTOL controls in the mission "Ascension". Cool that they added this mission back since it was not present in the XBOX 360/PS3 version, but controlling the VTOL using the gamepad is terrible.
- Controller support. The menu does not have proper controller support. I mean, yeah, the game recognizes the controller but doesn't always show the appropiate buttons prompts, and feels a bit clunky.
- The AI sometimes feels somewhat clunky too.
If you haven't played Crysis yet and want to, I would say this is a nice option if you get it on sale.
