Overrated game. I've heard that it's excellent but I was disappointed. It's a walk around the forrest with some anticlimactic mistery around it, talking with someone, thinking that your dialogue choices, or any choices, matter, but they don't. Don't bother exploring, don't bother carefully choosing your dialogue carefully, they all lead you to the exact same one ending that the game has. It's so sad that the developers gave us so many options but didn't do anything meaningful with them, it's a complete letdown.
Absolutely beautiul. It touches some morally questionable aspects of poverty and desperation and the dialogue between characters is beautifully crafted. I found the endings a bit harsh, I wished for my character to get more involved and do something meaningful, until I found out about the "secret ending" which is ok, but still I hoped to see a faster choice from him and a bit more involvement, because at some points in the story it really feels like he's one choice away from making a real difference. It seems that I really wish for a genuinely happy ending, other than a secret one which forces you to watch the most depressing ending before. I do recommend you to play this game and also I do recommend you to try to get to know the characters before thinking to find your way out asap.
I loved playing Gwent in TW3, I liked the initially released version of Gwent. The difference between playing Gwent in TW3 and here was that there was no story to it and you did not feel like playing with characters here like in the game, that's what made the one in the game more appealing. Now you scraped the amazing gameplay of Gwent in TW3 and added a story. Now this one has a bland gameplay and a forgettable storytelling something. I'd love it if there would be an "original gwent" mode for those who loved the gameplay in the first one and in TW3, this one right now is just not...interesting, and it doesn't feel like Gwent anymore.
Witcher 1 is in my opinion one of the greatest games i've ever played. The world is gorgeous and rich and full of interesting stuff to do and the story and storytelling are amazing. I loved spending countless hours in this game, like I loved playing the second and the third Witcher games, I am glad to see how beautiful this series evolved. After reading the books, the Witcher series is a must play!
