Necropolis: Brutal Edition

Feeling a little betrayed

SUMMARY: Humorous and pretty, but fell well short of expectations in terms of difficulty and replay-ability. Playing with friends isn't possible in GOG version. A real shame because the game shows a lot of promise! When coop is added I'd give 3 stars. MORE DETAIL: - Multiplayer/Coop is missing from the GOG version despite it being advertised during the pre-order campaign. GOG state this WILL be made available in the 'near future'. (However multiplayer IS available in the Steam version already. Go figure...) - The minimal aesthetic is excellent, but the levels could do with a little more variation. - Good humour. The game likes to kick you when you're down, and I love it :) - Combat feels good, but repetitive. The high-level weapons are fun, but there needs to be a lot more variation for a rouge-lite. Stamina draw from special attacks gets annoying real quick. - Difficulty is a bit exaggerated by the developers. The main failing point here is the AI, which needs some work. That said, I found it 'OK'. - Replay-ability is quite limited. Sadly not enough changes between plays for it to be overly worth while. The developers have stated that they will be releasing more content though...
