Drakensang

An underrated rpg

Could be nostalgia speaking but I had a lot of fun playing this game 10 years ago. I recently played it again and I had fun with it. Hopefully, GOG will one day add River of Time, which, if you played and enjoyed this one, you'd definietely enjoy the sequel as well.

Dreamfall Chapters: The Final Cut

For newcomers not old fans

The story feels detached from its predecessor. Old characters and storylines are forgotten or diregarded to make place for new ones. If just like me you waited all those years to learn what happened to Olivia and Damien, you're in for a big letdown, as they're basically swept under the rug as if the writers were telling us "Forget about them, here's a hot-dog girl. Like her?" There's a lot of contempt for the main character, mostly directed at how she was written and potrayed in the previous game which is unpleasant to say the least. Not worth waiting all these years.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft

Very fun experience with flaws

I didn't grow up with these games so I can't say I have sentiment for them but I have a lot of fun playing them. I play on PC and modern controls work amazing, However -biggest flaw of modern controls is that we don't have complete manual for them. I found out how to drop while crouching on Reddit( Alt(WALK)+S(BACKWARD)+left mouse button(GRAB) . I still don't know how to activate turbo on Quad Bike which is crucial for passing the level. -TR1 quieter than other games which I think is primarily due to steps being extremely quiet. At times it's like playing a silent game. -The games are fairly dark which, lighting could use improvement. I think older games handled it better. A lot of pick ups blend into the environment and its easy to miss them, especially in TR1. It could also be due to textures but I'm not sure. Other items like levers, monkey bars and switches are also harder to spot. Sometimes, nearly impossible forcing you to switch to old graphics -old graphics make use of complete darkness to cover secrets or items compelling you to use flares but remasters don't handle these well. Ex. In Venice level after you get on the boat there's a room with Jade Dragon at the bottom. In OG it's too dark to spot it, but in remasters the entire area is perfectly lit and you can see the bottom just fine along with the secret. During Aldwych level you need to turn on power to turn on the lights and while it makes a difference in OG graphics it's hardly noticeable in remasters. Sidenote, it'd would be amazing to be able to look up all level loading screens in the 'EXTRAS' in Main Menu. Overall, great remasters but could use some more polishing.
