I guess I don't have to say anything. Heroes III just is a timeless classic and it still plays perfectly fine nowadays. Only thing that's a bit outdated are the comparably long downtimes/waiting times to perform the quests in the campaigns. But that's nothing you couldn't stand with a bit of longwill.
