Postal Classic is probably one of the more disturbing games out there, a lot of people never bother to look deeper than 'white guy shoot gun' and while gunning down innocent people just trying to defend themselves against a maniac may unsettle people (yet gta, mafia and other such games get free passes apparently) the real uncomfortable stuff happens with the dude himself, he is clearly incredibly mentally unstable and only gets more and more beyond unhinged with each level, the diary entries give a lot of unsettling context to the dudes action, the sound scape paints a hell that the dude is mentally trapped in perceiving the world in a way the player never gets to aside from shattered descriptions and the odd image, the demon mentioned is debated to represent many things from an actual demon commanding him, to the player forcing him to act for nothing more than our enjoyment to a representation of his obvious mental illnesses that leave him unable to properly discern reality. Unlike Postal 2 this is not in anyway a comedy or a straight faced joke game like hatred, its dark, uncomfortable and still makes my skin crawl, its more or less a horror game with the player controlling the monster, or the character the monster possesses. the gameplay itself is simple but quite fun, best played a level or two at a time as it can get repetitive, levels are almost puzzle like at times with harder levels requiring good target selection and effective item use, its satisfyingly difficult, the weapons are generally fun and you'll have a good time laughing at the carnage until you're done and the silence and horror sounds seeps into the atmosphere, i do recommend this version over Redux, redux plays better but they did try and make it tonally more comedic and cartoonify the visuals which really ruins the best part of the game which is its uncomfortable and disturbing tone, its free and small so there is literally no harm in giving it a go
